We just kicked off Unit 7 of Benchmarks this week. We are focused on the skill of "drawing conclusions", the metacognitive strategy of "making inferences",
and the genre of fairy tales. We will also be reading, reading, reading, and reading to build our fluency and expand our vocabulary.
We also are focused on the Greek/Latin roots stella, luna, astr, and sol. We've been studying them since last week and are going to be testing over them this Friday, January 29th. Students should also be studying them at home and budgeting their time with them over the two week period. Quizlet is a great app and/or website to practice these.
Data Binders are normally updated on Monday/Tuesday, depending on the week. Your child is responsible for bringing it home at least once a week, showing you their updated assessments and data, and then getting a signature from an adult in the house that they have shown.
