On Monday, we recorded our Unit 3 pre and post-tests. Although the scores skyrocketed from the pretest to the post-test, most scores were in the 70% or C range. I gave the children who scored either a
D or an F an opportunity to correct the test using a multiplication chart. (I averaged the two scores to help their overall score for the test.) Majority of the children were able to improve their scores with little to no help from me. This helped to prove that the children MUST know their basic multiplication facts! Please continue to work with your child on their facts. Once multiplication is mastered, move on to division facts.
Sound the trumpets! I have an Announcement:
The following students have earned their multiplication certificates for knowing all multiplication facts on Xtramath.org:
Gauge Clark
Maya Alvey
Lauren Klem
Noah Woods
Asa Stevens
Aspen Parkhurst
AND
Noah Woods has passed the division part! Yes, I said the division part! Noah Woods, you ROCK!
