Ms. Walters' Math

We have begun working on Unit 5.  This week we are working on finding the fraction of a number.  For instance, what is the 3/5 of 100.  They have also learned the term
improper fraction and mixed number.  Today we worked on converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice-versa.  The children did a great job with this.  We will wrap up this week by working on comparing fractions, ordering fractions, and finding equivalent fractions.  We will also begin working on renaming fractions as decimals.  Big week this week.  Don't forget to utilize your online version of the student reference book for extra help on homework.  You can also use the Everyday Math site to print homework that may have been left at school.

Congratulations to Alison Sithole and Wyatt Nickleson.  Alison and Wyatt turned in ALL of their homework last 9 weeks and it was ALL on time.

These people also turned in ALL of their homework last 9 weeks!  Congratulations!
